I never understood the hate this book gets on this sub! I really enjoyed reading it. It was a very light-hearted, fun and warm little holiday book.

It came out around the same time a lot of god-tier (in most ppls opinions) books came out, and then we got an influx of romance books- and people just didnt like it (with the whole flirting with ur boss feeling forced, lack of female LI screentime, etc)

So when Home for the Holidays first came out I, like many readers in this sub, wrote it off as a crappy hallmark reject. But now that we have a book drought I decided to read this book and can I say that it was not what I expected ! It was cheesy and the first chapter is slow, but after the first introductions we meet a variety of love interest who actually seem to differ from eachother and it honestly has of the best slow burns of the app, with a love interest who doesn't like you automatically. I actually laughed a lot while reading it, and it's a weird feeling knowing this book I thought was completely crap ended up being wholesome and well-written.

I'm glad to see that someone else liked it. I truly don't get the hate this sub has for it. The writing was decent, the characters were lively and it did a great job putting the readers in the holiday spirit. The only thing I would change about it is the immense screen time Nick had while the other two LIs were sidelined af. It has much more quality than BaBu, SK, Witness, and PtR, it's so unfair to see it counted among them.

It was such a good holiday book, and Nick's attitude towards holiday celebrations were the best and cutest thing of this book. And when Nick smiled, OMG I WAS DEAD

I enjoyed it too. I read it every Christmas. I don't understand why people don't like it to such a degree. I mean, it feels very hallmark Christmas movie (but better imo) but I like Christmas movies. So idk, I loved it

Cheesy Hallmark movies are my guilty pleasure, especially the Christmas ones. This book reminded me of one and I loved it. It's a nice lighthearted holiday book.

I love this book. I remember my excitement when it came out. The funny thing was, I thought the reason Nick hated Christmas was because he was an elf or something because of his ears lmao, a girl can dream.

Of course it is. Such a sweet book. I really loved it. Never understood the hate towards this book. It did no harm, was just a standalone and was very nice.

I'd never played it before but I decided to give it a try after this post (and b/c of suit hottie lol) and it's totally Hallmark movie-ish, but it's fun. I've only played the 1st two chapters but I like it so far; sometimes you just need some mindless fluff in your life.

This is one of my fave books in the app why do people hate it so much (also a 2nd book would be perfect)
